MFT I Hope Your Birthday Is On Point

Hi everyone! The new Let’s Stick Together stamp set from MFT is too cute! I just had to have this set. For the design of this card I was inspired by 2 MFT challenges: The Birthday Project, and the Sketch Challenge.

For the ones interested, I have also created a video on my YouTube channel. If you like watching my videos and don’t want to miss any future videos, make sure to subscribe to my channel.

First I started by stamping the images on Perfect Colouring paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with my copic markers:

  • Cacti: YG01, YG13, YG15, YG17, R22, R24, R29
  • Flower pots: E09, E39, E37, E35, E59

After fussy cutting, I adhered the cacti to the pots with tacky glue and set them aside. To create the background, I used the Snow Day stencil from Cleary Besotted together with Distress Oxide ink Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron. To add more interest and a bit of sparkle, I splattered Red Gold paint from Gansai Tambi on the background. To get a nice border around the background, I die cut it with the Wonky Stitched Rectangles die.

For the Cheers sentiment, I used the Caption Alphabet die cuts from MFT. This I die cut from paper which I ink blended red with Distress Oxide ink Candied Apple. For the other sentiment, I used gold embossing powder, which matched nicely with the gold splatters on the background.

The Sketch challenge gave me the idea to let the cacti hang from twine. I tied the twine in a knot, and adhered it with tacky glue to the back of the cacti. I adhered the cacti with foam tape to the background, and taped the twine to the back of the card. And that finishes of the card!

I hope you like this card and it gave you inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!

Mood Board Inspired Glimmer Paste Card

Hi everyone! On the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog they shared a beautiful mood board by which I was inspired. The colors in the mood board are more pastel like, but as you can see, using pastel colors is not my strong suit πŸ˜‰

For the ones interested, I have also created a video on my YouTube channel. If you like watching my videos and don’t want to miss any future videos, make sure to subscribe to my channel.

My idea with this card was to create a gradient of the colors in the mood board. First I ink blended Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon on top of each other and over the Geo Snowflake stencil from SugarPea Designs. Then for the other colors I used Shaded Lilac, Picked Rasperberry, and Carved Pumpkin. To give it the icy winter feeling of the mood board, I applied Nuvo Glimmer paste on top.

While the glimmer paste was drying, I moved on to the sentiment. I die cut the Big Happy Birthday from Mama Elephant 3 times out of white cardstock. One of the dies, I colored pink with Picked Raspberry. To adhere them all together I used tacky glue and offset the top white sentiment a little bit. Finally I adhered the sentiment to the background.

I hope you like this card and it gave you inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!

Lawn Fawn Gingerbread House

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing 2 Christmas cards with gingerbread houses. These have been created with the Build-A-House die from Lawn Fawn. The design is the same, but thanks to the different color scheme they look like totally different cards.

For the card making process check out my video below or hop over to my channel. If you like watching my video’s, do not forget to subscribe.

For both houses I used Desert Storm cardstock from Neenah for the base. This cardstock already has a nice gingerbread look which I highlighted even more by adding splatters with white acrylic paint and Distress Ink Vintage Photo. For the red house, I chose red cardstock I still had in my stash. For the teal colored house, I chose Mermaid cardstock from Lawn Fawn. From these cardstocks I die cut al the elements with the Build-A-House die and the Christmas Add-On.

After assembling the houses, I first got started on the backgrounds before adding the frosting elements. For the backgrounds I used pattern paper from the Snow Day Remix and Spiffy Speckles paper pack. The speckled background for the red house I made myself by splattering Distress Oxide ink Candied Apple on white cardstock.

To create the sentiment, I stamped Merry Christmas on a wavy banner with VersaMark ink. I then heat embossed the white embossing powder. After adhering the houses on the backgrounds I could get started on all the detailed elements. To create the frosting, I used Nuvo Drops Gloss White. For the small teal and red elements such as the hearts and lights, I put Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents on top to give it a nice shine. And that finishes of the cards!

I hope you like these card and it gave you inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!

A Frosty Happy Birthday

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing 2 similar Happy Birthday cards with the cute Snow Angels from Mama Elephant.

For both of the cards, I die cut the Happy Birthday out of Neenah cardstock. For the background of the card with the bears, I used Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon. For the other one I used Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers. To create the effect of snow, I diluted white acrylic paint and made splatters on the background. To create shimmer spots, I also sprayed shimmer spray through the snow day stencil.

While the backgrounds were drying, I stamped all the images on Perfect Colouring paper and colored them with my copic markers:

  • Polar bears: YR20, YR21, YR000, YR01 , E50, E51, E53, B93, B95, B97, B00
  • Cat and fox: YR20, YR21, YR24, YR27, YR000, YR01, YR02, BG72, BG75, BG78

After coloring. I first adhered the Happy Birthday to the background and decided where I wanted my images to go. Then on those spots, I stamped the snow angels with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. To create the magical sparkle look of snow, I put Glossy Accents on the snow angels and Happy Birthday and tipped Prisma Glitter on top. Once that was dry, I adhered my images with foam squares. As a final touch, I added Stickles Frosted Lace to the scarfs and hat.

I hope you like these cards and it gave you inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!

A Merry Meowy Christmas!

Hi everyone! When I saw the cute stack of snow cats I just had to have these sets! The one on the left is from the limited Stamptember 2019 edition, and the one on the right is from the Snow Friends stamp set from Mama Elephant which is still available!

First I started with the background as that had to dry . First I ink blended Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass over the Geo Snowflake stencil from SugarPea Designs which is an absolute favorite of mine! Then to make it really sparkling, I put Nuvo Glimmer paste moonstone over top. The result was this beautiful icy looking background.

While the background was drying, I stamped all the images from the Mama Elephant Snow Friends on Perfect Colouring paper and colored them with my copic markers:

  • Scarfs: BG13, BG15, BG18, BG72, BG75, BG78
  • Tabby cats: YR20, YR21, YR24
  • Cool grey cats: C0, C1, C3
  • Warm grey cats: W0, W2, W4

To create the snowbank, I die cut white cardstock with the Stiched Hillside die and adhered it to the background with foam tape. To frame the card, I used Mermaid carstock from which I also die cut a little heart to go with the sentiment. The sentiment itself I stamped with Tumbled Glass and Versamark ink since I wanted to heat emboss it with clear embossing powder. This gives a beautiful shine to the sentiment and adds a lot to the frosty scene. For some final touches, I added Stickles Stardust to the scarfs and little heart, and topped it of with Glossy Accents.

I hope you like this card and it gave you inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!

A Monster Birthday with a Freebie from Create A Smile Stamps

Hi everyone! Did you know Create A Smile stamps has these awesome freebies? In the card of today I wanted to feature the quirky monster freebie.

First I downloaded the freebies and adjusted it to the size I wanted and printed them out. Then I colored the monster with my copic markers:

  • Body: BV00, BV02, BV04, B00, BG02, BG05
  • Hair: V01, V02, V09
  • Feet: C00, C01, C03, C05

After the coloring, I fussy cut the images. For the background I stamped the Abstract Triangles with Distress Oxide Ink Wilted Violet and Mermaid Lagoon. I found these colors matched perfectly with the copic markers I chose. For the blue strip on the right, I ink blended Mermaid Lagoon on white cardstock.

As I wanted to ground the monster, I also die cut a hill with the Stitched Hillside border die out of white cardstock. The hill I adhered to the background with scor tape. For the monster and speach bubble I wanted to have more dimension so I adhered them with foam squares.

As a finishing touch, I added a couple of gems to the background. And that finishes of my card! I hope you like it and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!

Hoppy Holidays – Scalloped Box Card

Hi everyone! Recently I bought the Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up from Lawn Fawn and I couldn’t be happier! It is so much fun to work with this die. For my first card I decided to go with a Christmas theme with the Stamptember Snow Bunnies.

First I stamped all the images on Perfect Colouring paper with Mememto Tuxedo Black Ink. Then I colored them with my copic markers:

  • Trees: YG01, YG13, YG17, YG67, E55, E57
  • Scarfs, hat, presents: R24, R29, R59, Y13, Y18, YR24, YR04, Y18
  • Bunnies: E50, E51, E53, E55, R20, R22

After all the images were colored, I die cut them with the coordinating dies. I also stamped a bunch of snowflakes from the Yeti or Not stamp set on vellum and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. The base of the Scalloped Box I die cut out of white cardstock. For all the flaps, I die cut red cardstock, and pattern paper from the Snow Day Remix paper pack. For the sky, I ink blended Distress Oxide ink Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon and splattered Liquid Stardust on top.

For the inserts I wanted to have the look of snow banks. Therefore I die cut the inserts from Sugar Crystal cardstock. Now all my elements were ready and it was assembly time. If you are interested in how to assemble the Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up, I’m planning to create a video on this. I am a bit behind with my videos as my voice is still recovering from a bad cold.
