Sunny Studio Stamps – Cruising Critters

Hi Everyone! I have a confession to make: Somehow, always when I try to make a card more masculine, it still ends up cute and girly. Do you recognize that also with yourself? However, this time, I think I’ve managed to keep it masculine! In the card of today I’m featuring the Cruising Critters from Sunny Studio Stamps. I love how the critters are piled up in the car! As this card is going to a guy who has an olive green car, I also wanted to color this car in those colors.

First I stamped the image on Perfect Colouring paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with copic markers:

  • Car: YG93, YG95, YG97, YG01, C0, C1, C3, C5, W0, W2
  • Bird: Y18, Y13, Y11, YR04
  • Cat and racoon: C0, C1, C3, C5
  • Dogs, hegdehog, and bear: E50, E51, E53, E55, E57, E59
  • Bunny: W0, W2

For the sky I ink blended Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron on white cardstock. In the top left I stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Onyx Black ink. To create the bushes in the scene, I die cut Fall Fling paper from Lawn Fawn with the Puffy Cloud Borders. For the road, I used a strip of black cardstock and heat embossed the white dash lines on them. These are also part of the Cruising Critters set. I adhered the car with the critters on top of the scene with foam tape to give it dimension.

I hope you like this card and it gave you inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!

Fuzzy Hugs Underneath Northern Lights Part 2

Hi everyone! In a previous post I shared the exact same card with you all, except I used a different color scheme. I’m really curious to hear which one you like best!

For reference, I made a video on the coloring and card making process of my previous card. So if you would like to know how you can create the card, this video will show you! And if you like watching my videos, don’t forget to subscribe to my channel.

The background of this card is created with Distress Oxide inks and I was going for a northern lights look. The colors I used are Cracked Pistachio, Tumbled Glass, and Mermaid Lagoon. To add the effect of snow, I diluted white acrylic paint and splattered it on the background. After that, I set the background aside and let it dry.

In the meantime I stamped the bears from the Fuzzy Hugs stamp set on Perfect Colouring paper and colored them with my copic markers:

  • Left bear: B93, B95, B97 , E50, E51, E53 , R22
  • Right bear: YG01, YG13, YG17, YG67, E59, E57, E35, R22

Then from white cardstock I die cut the Winter Forest and adhered it on my ink blended background. The bears I also adhered with tacky glue and grounded them by coloring the ground underneath with my copics. As a finishing touch, I added Stickles Frosted Lace to the snow.

It was really fun to create this card and I hope it gave you inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!

Fuzzy Hugs Underneath Northern Lights

Hi everyone! I’m so in love with this Fuzzy Hugs stamp set from Mama Elephant. The critters are just so cute! I couldn’t resist creating another card with them. However, this time I’m using the bunnies who are snuggling up below a winter sky.

For the ones interested, I have made a video on the coloring and card making process. If you like watching my videos, don’t forget to subscribe to my channel.

The background of this card is created with Distress Oxide inks and I was going for a northern light look. The colors I used are Shaded Lilac, Picked Raspberry, and Mermaid Lagoon. To add the effect of snow, I diluted white acrylic paint and splattered it on the background. After that, I set the background aside and let it dry.

In the meantime I stamped the bunnies from the Fuzzy Hugs stamp set on Perfect Colouring paper and colored them with my copic markers:

  • Left bunny: W0, W2, E50, R20, RV000, RV52, RV55, BG00, BG02, BG05, BG07
  • Right bunny: C0, C3, C5, R20, BV00, BV02, BV04, B93, B95, B97

Then from white cardstock I die cut the Winter Forest and adhered it on my ink blended background. The bunnies I also adhered with tacky glue and grounded them by coloring the ground underneath with my copics. As a finishing touch, I added polka dots to the scarf of the left bunny and added Stickles Frosted Lace to the snow.

It was really fun to create this card and I hope it gave you inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!

Lawn Fawn Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone! Today’s card is inspired by the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge. The stamp set featured in this card is the Snow Bunnies set which was part of stamptember this year. For this christmas card I decided to go with non-traditional colors and I love the outcome!

First I stamped all the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with copic markers. For the background I blended Distress Oxide ink Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon with a blending brush on smooth white cardstock. Then I diluted white acrylic paint with water and made splatters on the background to mimic snow falling. To decorate the background even more, I heat embossed snowflakes with white embossing powder on vellum. For the snow, I die cut glitter cardstock from Tonic with the Stitched Hillside die.

To decorate the bottom part of the card, I die cut christmas lights and the wreath with the Build-A-House Christmas add-on on white cardstock. I then colored the die cuts with the same colors I used for the images. To frame the card, I used blue speckled paper from the Spiffy Speckles paper pack. At the bottom, I stamped the sentiment with the Peacock Feathers Oxide ink. To finish of the card, I added Stickles and Glossy Accents in a number of places.

I hope you like these card and it gave you inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!

Fun and Messy Distress Oxide Background

Hi Everyone! Today’s card is inspired by the current MFT Sketch Challenge. The Picture Perfect stamp set was just perfect for this sketch which madethis a great opportunity to pull out this stamp set again. This is actually the first time I’m using this particular stamp from the set.

First I started with creating the background as that had to dry for a bit. For this, I stamped the Abstract Triangle rubber stamp from Simon Says on smooth watercolor cardstock. I used VersaMark ink as I wanted to heat emboss it with white embossing powder. On a craftmat, I smushed different colors of Distress Oxide ink and sprayed it with water. The colors I used are Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac, and Picked Raspberry. I then grabbed my heat embossed background and smushed that in the inks. I created multiple layers, each time I dried it first before going in the ink again. This is a really fun technique to do and it creates a beautiful background.

While the background was drying, I moved on to my main scene: the dog selfie. I stamped the dogs with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with my Copic markers:

  • Grey dog: W0, W2, W4
  • Brown dogs: E51, E53, E55, E57, E59
  • Ears: RV000, RV52, RV55,
  • Collar: V01, V05
  • Nose: C1, C3, C5, C9
  • Tongue: R59, R29

The sentiment I heat embossed with white embossing powder and then blended Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry on top. With a paper towel I buffed off the ink on top of the embossed sentiment. Then I cut the sentiment strip in the design I wanted and adhered it to the background with foam tape. The dog selfie I adhered to the background with tacky glue. And that finishes of the card!

I hope you like this card and it gave you inspiration. If you are curious to see all my other cards created with this stamp set, click here. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!

Toadally Awesome Fall Card

Hi everyone! As you may have noticed, I’ve been making a number of fall cards lately. I just love the colors of fall leaves and get inspired by them. The fall themed card for today features Hello Bluebird stamps. I’ve used 2 sets: Garden Friends, and Fairy Garden.

I stamped all the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with my copic markers. As this is a fall card, I choose more muted colors:

  • Frog and leaves: YG93, YG95, YG97
  • Mushrooms and ladybug: R24, R29, R59
  • Other elements: YR000, YR01, YR20, YR21, UR24, YR27, YR04, YR07, Y18

After the coloring, I die cut the images with the coordinating dies for the Garden Friends and Fairy Garden set.

For the grass, I die cut white cardstock and ink blended Distress Oxide Ink Mowed Lawn and Cracked Pistachio. To create a fall looking sky, I used Distress Oxide Carved Pumpkin, and Mustard Seed, plus the MFT Cloud Stencil. Once the whole background scene was done, I adhered all the images with tacky glue and stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Onyx Black ink. To finish of the card, I colored the eyes with a Glaze Gel pen and gave the eyes white pupils with a white gel pen.

I hope you like this card and it gave you inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!

Lawn Fawn Build a House in Autumn

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing 2 fall themed Build-A-House cards with you. By using different Distress Oxides for the background, and different colored cardstock, you get a completely different look! For the non-Dutch readers: The sentiment on the card says “Gefeliciteerd met jullie nieuwe woning” which means “Congratulations on your new home”.

For the card making process check out my video below or hop over to my channel. If you like watching my video’s, do not forget to subscribe.

For the background of the pink colored house, I used Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, and Mustard Seed. For the other background I used Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio, and Mustard Seed. For the grass I used Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron.

From some left over cardstock of the ink blended background, I die cut a bunch of leaves. That die is part of the Birch Tree die set which I also used to cut out the trees from Speckled Eggshell cardstock. From that same cardstock, I also die cut the base of the house. The other elements like the door and windows, I die cut out of peacock and guava cardstock which is part of the Rainbow Pack. All the die cut elements are part of the base Build-A-House set from Lawn Fawn, except for the door which is from the Christmas Add-On.

As I wanted to heat emboss the sentiment with white embossing powder, I stamped it with VersaMark Ink. This sentiment is from a Dutch brand called Carlijn Design. To finish of the card, I added Glossy Accents to the windows to make them a bit more realistic.

I hope you like these card and it gave you inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!
