Just a Little Note – Mama Elephant

Hi everyone! I am so happy with how this card turned out! For some reason I struggled a bit with how to actually bring everything together. So I left it for a couple of days and came back with a fresh pair of eyes. This truly helped! It was really fun to combine different brands together and create this notebook looking card.

Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I want to mention we have a challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. The theme of this month is “Interactive”. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

First I stamped the images from Write With Me and Painting Piggies on Perfect Colouring paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored them with the following Copic markers:

  • Bunny: E50, E51, E53, BG0000, R30
  • Greens: G20, G21, G24, Y11
  • Pig: R30, R32, E71, E13, E21, E00, E000

After coloring I die cut the images with the coordinating dies and added highlights with a white gel pen.

On the Peach Sorbet cardstock I foiled stripes with Aura foil and the Skinny Stripes hot foil plate from Spellbinders. Then only on the left side of the panel, I wanted to add a fun edge. To create this I used one of the dies in the Book Edges set and threaded twine through the wholes. On this panel I also stamped the sentiment from More Magic Messages in black ink, and a bunch of doodles with Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide.

On the cardbase I adhered green Spiffy Speckles paper which matched very nicely with the greens I chose for coloring. Then on top of that panel, I adhered Vanilla Malt cardstock which I die cut with the Deckled Frames die and splattered it with Cracked Pistachio to tie it all in. As I went for a playful look by stamping the sentiment in an angle, I decided to adhere the striped panel with the critters in an angle as well.

I hope you like this card, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
