Birthday Cat Card – Sunny Studio

Hi everyone! Don’t ask me why, but today my brain thought “Let’s make a green wall!”. And as a person with 4 cats, I could not resist the Birthday Cat stamp by Sunny Studio.

Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I want to mention we have a challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. The theme of this month is “Alpha & Digits”. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

First I stamped the images from Birthday Cat on Perfect Colouring paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored them with the following Copic markers:

  • G20, YG61, YG63
  • Y21, Y26, YR21, YR24, YR27
  • N5, N3, N1
  • W4, W2, W0
  • R32, R30

After coloring I fussy cut the images with Cutterbee scissors. Do know there are also coordinating dies available.

For the background I created a brick wall at the bottom of the card with the Brick stencil from Lawn Fawn and Distress Oxide Brushed Corduroy and Evergreen Bough. Then I masked off the brick wall and added splatters to the top of the card with Evergreen Bough and Mustard Seed.

The sentiment I also ink blended with a mixture of Brushed Corduroy and Evergreen Bough. The letters I die cut with the Lucky Alphas from Mama Elephant. To give the sentiment dimension, I stacked 4 letters on top of each other. As a sub sentiment I went with one from the Birthday Cat set and stamped it with black ink. Finally I adhered the letters and critters to the card and put it on a Noble Fir cardstock cardbase.

I hope you like this card, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
