Deliver Summer Vibes – Mama Elephant

Hi everyone! Are you ready for summer?! I know these critters are! I love the cute stamps in the Deliver Summer Vibes set and couldn’t wait to create a summer themed card.

Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I want to mention we have a challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. The theme of this month is “Alpha & Digits”. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

First I stamped the images from Deliver Summer Time on Perfect Colouring paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored them with the following Copic markers:

  • BG15, BG53, B00
  • RV14, RV13, RV11
  • Y18, Y13, Y11
  • YR07, YR04, YR21
  • W2, W0
  • E41, E40

After coloring I fussy cut the images with Cutterbee scissors. Do know there are also coordinating dies available.

The inspiration for the colors came from a quick google search on summer colors. I really loved the happy pallet with blue, yellow, orange and pink. For the background I wanted to have a sunset feeling so I did ink blending with Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry and Squeezed lemonade for the sky. Where those 2 colors meet, they create this beautiful orange color. The sand part I created with Distress Oxide Brushed Corduroy and Vintage Photo. To add some more interest to the panel, I also added splatters with Perfect Pearls. To trim down the panel, I used the Decked Frames die from Mama Elephant.

For the sentiment I decided to die cut it out of the background and use the inlay technique. I debated first whether I did want to use the cut outs from the background by adding dimension behind them. But in the end I really liked the look of the inlayed white letters in the vibrant sky. Below the die cut sentiment, I also stamped a sub sentiment in black. Finally, I adhered the colored images to the background with liquid glue.

I hope you like this card, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
