Tea Party Birthday Card – My Favorite Things

Hi everyone! It’s par-tea time! I thought all of the images of Tea Party Pals were so cute! Right away I imagined the tea party in a flowery field so that’s the vibe I tried to create with this card.

Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I want to mention we have a challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. The theme of this month is “Sweet Treats”. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

First I stamped the images from Tea Party Pals on Perfect Colouring paper and colored them with Copic markers.

  • Pinks: R000, R20, R22
  • Teals: BG0000, BG10, BG11, BG32
  • Yellows: Y000, Y11, Y13
  • Browns: E40, E41, E31

For the scene I imagined the tea party would be outside in a flower field, hence I thought the Spring Flowers backdrop die from Lawn Fawn was perfect! I first used it to die cut the frame out of white cardstock, and then die cut all the flowers from Ballet Slippers, Sticky Note and Mermaid cardstock.

On the cardbase I ink blended Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina at the top, and Bundled Sage at the bottom. Then after checking where the frame and images would land, I stamped the sentiment with black ink. The frame I adhered directly on the ink blended cardbase, and the images I popped up with a bit of foam tape.

I hope you like this card, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
