A Blossoming Shaker Card – Pinkfresh Studio

Hi everyone! The Secret Garden die from Pinkfresh Studio inspired me to create this flower themed shaker card. I love the elegance of it, which is also complimented by the gold elements in the card.

Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I want to mention we have a challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. The theme of this month is “Shaker”. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

To create this card I started by die cutting a bunch of elements. The Essential Hello sentiment I die cut 2 times out of white cardstock, and once out of Metallic Gold cardstock. I stacked these on top of each other to create dimension. To make the sentiment stand out from the background, I die cut the shadow out of vellum. The sub sentiment is from an Itty Bitty set from MFT, which I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock.

The Secret Garden die from Pinkfresh Studio is the one which inspired me to create this card. I really love the pattern, and I thought it would be great for a shaker card. I die cut the Secret Garden out of white cardstock. As the border is very narrow, I did create an additional white frame so the foam tape behind it would be hidden. To create the frame, I used some basic rectangle dies.

Behind the Secret Garden die cut I adhered acetate with double sided tape. On the cardbase I adhered cardstock with alcohol ink patterns from Craft Consortium. Around the edges I adhered doubled up foam tape. The sides of the foam tape I treated with an anti static powder tool to make sure the sequins wouldn’t stick to the sides. To fill up the shaker, I chose the Essentials Shaker Elements Flowers from Studio Light. I thought these matched very nicely with the flower theme going on.

I hope you like this card and tag, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
