Crafty Rainbow Birthday Card – Mama Elephant

Hi everyone! I have a very cheerful rainbow birthday card for you today! It is featuring the new Painting Piggies set from Mama Elephant. As a rainbow image was included in the set, I thought it would be fun to make it a rainbow themed card.

Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I want to mention we have a challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. The theme of this month is “Shaker”. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

First I stamped the images from Painting Piggies on Perfect Colouring paper and colored them with Copic markers. Most images I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, except for the rainbow on the canvas. That one I stamped with Jellyfish ink to get a no line coloring look. After coloring, I die cut the image with the coordinating dies and added details with a white gel pen.

On watercolor cardstock I painted a rainbow using Distress Oxide inks: Rustic Wilderness, Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Worn Lipstick and Broken China. After creating the rainbow I die cut the panel with a Watercolor Rectangle die. Once I knew where I wanted to place the images, I also created a shadow with Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke.

The sentiment is from a set called Wishes Enclosed, which I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I also stamped the sentiment again with Versamark ink so I could do heat embossing with clear embossing powder to make it glossy. Below the main sentiment I stamped a sub sentiment using Itty Bitty Birthday.

The images I adhered using foam squares. The watercolor panel I also popped up with foam tape on Neenah Desert Storm cardstock, which I then glued on top of the cardbase.

I hope you like this card and tag, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
