A Heart Warming Card – Mama Elephant

Hi everyone! For this card I used some Valentine’s Day products, but this is a card you can also give to a friend. I love how the different products go together color wise, and it just makes me happy looking at it!

Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I want to mention we have a challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. The theme of this month is “Hearts”. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

First I stamped the images from Surprise Boxes on Perfect Colouring paper and colored them with Copic markers:

  • Pinks: R000, R20, R22
  • Teals: BG32, B11, BG10, BG0000
  • Browns: E53, E52, E51, E50

After coloring I die cut the images with the coordinating dies. For the background panel I die cut a stitched rectangle from white paper and added splatters with Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick. This color ties in nicely with the Fruit Salad pattern paper on the cardbase.

For the hearts I used the Heart Pocket die set and Guava cardstock. After die cutting, I added highlights with a white gel pen. For the sentiment I die cut ‘enjoy’ from Mermaid cardstock. To make the sentiment slightly more interesting to look at, I ink blended the top with Yeti ink.

As I was really enjoying myself with these products, at the same time I made a small tag. Behind the heart there is room to put a gift card. I think this tag together with the card would be a very nice gift to give.

I hope you like this card and tag, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
