Hi everyone! I have a fun 2 in 1 project for you! When creating this sweet birthday card I had a small leftover which I turned into a cookie tag. I love how I got the most out of this beautiful and soft background.
Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I want to mention we have a challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. The theme of this month is “Food and Drinks. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

After coloring I added a few highlights with a white gel pen.
For the background I did soft ink blending with Distress Oxide Shaded Lilac, Milled Lavender, and Spun Sugar. Then I die cut the background with the Watercolor Rectangle and Circle. I also kept the ‘leftover’ circle for the background to create a cute cookie tag out of it.
To add some interest, I added texture with Solar Paste. On the rectangle background I used the Cross My Heart color and the Snowy Sky stencil. On the circle I used the Golden Hour color and the Bubble Background stencil.
Then as a cardbase I used Spiffy Speckles paper. For the rectangle card I stamped a few cookies and hearts on the background with Distress Ink Antique Linen. For the cookie tag, I stamped stripes with the Dainty Plaid background stamp and Distress Ink Antique Linen.
As a last step I added the sentiments. For the cookie tag I added a small sentiment tag. And for the card I stamped a sentiment from Something Sweet with VersaFine Onyx Black ink on vellum. I couldn’t stamp the sentiment directly on the background due to the solar paste. So I solved it by using vellum and adhering it with Glossy Accents.
