A Meowy Birthday Card – Mama Elephant

Hi everyone! If you like rainbows and cats, then this is the card for you! It is quite a simple design, but oh so cheerful with the rainbow colors.

Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I want to mention we have a challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. The theme of this month is “Rainbow”. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

First I stamped the cats from Little Line Agenda on Perfect Colouring paper and colored them with Copic markers:

  • Yellow: YR21, Y21, Y11
  • Pink: R32, R30, R000
  • Purple: BV02, BV00, BV0000
  • Teal: BG32, BG11, BG10, BG0000
  • Green: G24, G21, G20
  • Cats, variant 1: E42, E41, E40
  • Cats, variant 2: E41, E40, W2, W0

With a white gel pen I added dots to the cheeks. After coloring, I die cut the image with coordinating dies.

As a backdrop for the cats, I splattered several colors of Distress Oxide to a white panel to create a fun confetti like background. To frame this bit, I used a Scalloped Rectangle Frame. Below the cats I stamped the sentiment, which is from the My Pet Kitties set.

On the cardbase, I ink blended a rainbow with several Distress Oxide colors: Dried Marigold, Saltwater Taffy, Shaded Lilac, Salvaged Patina, and Cracked Pistachio. The framed scene I popped up with foam tape to make it stand out from the background.

I hope you like this card, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
