Hi everyone! As it is May I thought it would be fun to create a ‘mermay’ card. It features the new Telling Tales Line Up from Clearly Besotted. With this card I went a bit out of my comfort zone and used orange as a main color. I thought it worked really well with the gorgeous Hint of Mint cardstock from Heffy Doodle.
Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I want to mention we have a challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. The theme of this month is “Big Sentiments”. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

The stamp set I’m featuring today is the Telling Tales Line Up from Clearly Besotted. I stamped the images on Perfect Colouring paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored them with Copic markers:
- Mermaids: E70, W2, W0, YR04, YR21, YR20, YR000
- Mint: G02, G00, BG0000
- Sand: E37, E35, E31, E30
- Rocks: E71, E70, W4, W2, W0
- See critters: BV20, BV23, BV000
- Other orange elements: YR18, YR15, YR20
After coloring, I fussy cut the images with Cutter Bee scissors.

As cardbase I used Hint of Mint cardstock on which I stamped the Thick and Thin lines from MFT with VersaMark ink. I coated it in clear embossing powder and heat set it, which results in a nice tone on tone look. The edges of the background I darkened up with Black Soot and Evergreen Bough.
The Birthday Wishes sentiment I die cut out of Sticky Note cardstock and ink blended a gradient with Carved Pumpkin and Crackling Campfire. To tie the background and sentiment together, I added splatters with white gouache. Both the background and colored scene I die cut with Wonky Stitched Rectangles. The colored scene I adhered on top of the background with liquid glue at the sides, and foam tape in the center.
I hope you like this card, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
