Hooray Streamers Shaker Card – Mama Elephant

Hi everyone! With this card I went all out with everything festive! I’m loving the new Hooray Streamers which add a lot to the party vibe. And as I did not have any gold cardstock, I created my own with the solid hot foil plate from Pinkfresh Studio. Very handy!

Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I want to mention we have a challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. The theme of this month is “Shaker Cards”. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

First I started die cutting a bunch of the Hooray Streamers from Textured Dot cardstock in pastel colors. To make this process nice and fast, I kept the dies together instead of snipping them apart. This way I could easily create 4 streamers with one pass through the die cutting machine.

For the ‘hooray’ sentiment itself, I wanted to have it in gold, but did not have any gold cardstock. To still achieve the same result, I used the Solid Hot Foil Plate and Aura foil on white carstock. This basically foils the whole piece of cardstock which means you can create your own gold cardstock. From that, I die cut the Hooray and also a bunch of stars and confetti pieces.

As the challenge this month is shaker cards, I also wanted to create a shaker. I’m really loving the edge to edge shaker cards since they have little bulk. I created this by wrapping acetate from old stamp packaging around a piece of cardstock measuring 6″ by 3″. Inside the shaker I put a bunch of different sequin mixes:

I love the combination of all of these together, it looks very festive! Once the shaker was closed off, I adhered it on pink dot cardstock measuring 6.5″ by 3.5″.

The mice are from Mice Day to Celebrate and I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Perfect Colouring paper. The Copic markers used:

  • Mice: E51, E50, E40, E42, E41, R30, E000, E00, E04, N3
  • Pinks: RV13, RV11, R000
  • Blues: B93, B91, B000
  • Greens: YG13, YG01, Y000
  • Yellow: Y13

All of the streamers and the mice I then adhered with liquid glue on top of the shaker.

I hope you like this card, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
