Soft and Dreamy Happy Birthday Card – Pinkfresh Studio

Hi everyone! For this dreamy birthday card I used a technique I wanted to try for a while now. More often I have stamped floral images on vellum for a soft and dreamy look. In this card I wanted to step that up and apply light coloring on the back with Copic markers. I love the soft result of this technique!

Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I want to mention we have a challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. The theme of this month is “Hearts”. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

First I started with creating the background by stamping the Dainty Plaid background stamp with VersaMark ink and heat setting the white embossing powder. This stamps also has coordinating layering stencils, which I used with the ink blending. The colors Distress Oxide I used are Chipped Sapphire, Shaded Lilac, and Milled Lavender.

The Dreamy Florals I also stamped with VersaMark ink, but on Pearlescent Vellum. After heat setting the embossing powder, I die cut the florals with the coordinating dies. On the back of the vellum I applied light coloring with Copic markers (R32, B95, BV02). This gives a soft look which I really love.

Then there was one more thing left to stamp: the sentiment. This one is from the Happy Birthday Sentiments which also has coordinating dies for the bigger sentiments within the set. To make the sentiment match with the rest of the card, I decided to stamp it with Distress Oxide Chipped Sapphire.

In the center of the background panel I adhered a Fancy Circle with foam tape. The flowers and sentiment I arranged around/within the circle. As a finishing touch, I added sequins from the Birthday Candles sequins mix.

I hope you like this card, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
