Slimline Christmas Box Card feat. Ice Fishing – Mama Elephant

Hi everyone! There are so many cute critters in the new Ice Fishing set, I wanted to put as many on a card as I could! I decided to go for a slimline box card, and also used a few critters from Dashin Tru The Snow as they go so well together.

Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I want to mention we have a challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. The theme of this month is “It’s the Season”. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

First I stamped all the critters on Perfect Colouring paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copic markers:

  • Fox: E37, YR27, YR24, YR21, E42, E41, E40, E59, E37, E35
  • Bunnies and Bear: E31, E30, E50, E40, E000, R30, R000
  • Pinks: R32, R30, R000
  • Teals: BG57, BG53, B00, B000, BG0000
  • Fish: Y26, Y21, Y000

If you’d like to see how I put slimline box cards together, I have a video on my YouTube channel in which I show this. On the back panel of the Slim Scenescape Builder, I did subtle ink blending of Distress Oxide Saltwater Taffy and Tumbled Glass. These colors matched very nicely with the colors I chose for the critters. Out of white cardstock I die cut mountains with the Stitched Mountain Borders, and did a light layer of ink blending with Hickory Smoke. The tips of the mountains I die cut our of Pixie Dust cardstock and adhered them on the mountains with liquid glue.

The inserts of the box card I wanted to give a look of ice. So again I did light ink blending of Tumbled Glass, and added Stickles Frosted Lace on top. The Stickles is a small detail, but it adds so much!

The decorative pieces of the box card for the front and the sides I lightly ink blended with Saltwater Taffy. On the front piece I stamped a sentiment from Snow Friends, and above the mountains I stamped a sentiment from Joyful Greetings. Both sentiments I stamped with Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke.

I hope you like this card, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
