Abstract Faux Alcohol Background – Pinkfresh Studio

Hi everyone! Lately I have been watching videos with abstract alcohol ink backgrounds which were absolutely gorgeous. The background for this card was inspired by those alcohol background designs. As I don’t have alcohol inks myself (yet), I created this with Distress Oxide refills on Gloss Alcohol cardstock.

On Gloss Alcohol cardstock I applied refill ink from Distress Oxide Shaded Lilac and Kitsch Flamingo in a diagonal design. Then I sprayed water on top to make it help move, and also fussed around with a paintbrush. As I knew I wanted to add gold accents on the card, I also added gold splatters with Gansai Tambi Starry Colors.

After letting it sit for a while to let it dry, I applied Distress Micro Glaze on top. It always amazes me what a wonderful effect this has on the Distress Oxide, it is as if a light gets turned on.

After my Gemini Foilpress heated up, I foiled the Small Butterflies, and the Fancy Script Words on vellum and white paper respectively. From Pearlescent vellum and white cardstock I die cut the Leafy Branch die, and stacked them on top of each other. I made sure to only adhere the vellum on the stem, but not on the leaves to give it room to pop up. From the Pearlescent vellum I also die cut flowers from the Garden Wreath die set.

On a scrap piece of paper, I ink blended Distress Oxide Kitsch Flamingo and Shaded Lilac, from which I die cut some more flowers. The flowers I adhered on and around the Leafy Branch. In the centers of the flowers I put gold and white pearls. The butterflies I adhered with silicone tape which you barely notice. As embellishment, I put Glacier jewels on the spots of the butterflies.

The sentiment is actually the revers of the original foiled sentiment, which I achieved using the Solid Hot Foil Plate. As a final finishing touch, I added a Folk Edge frame ink blended with Distress Oxide Shaded Lilac, Kitsch Flamingo, and Spun Sugar.

I hope you like this card, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
