Hi everyone! Cardstock doesn’t always get so much attention, but there are so many fun ways you can use it! This blocked design is very easy to do, and fun to make. What I love about the design is that it can easily be used for multiple occasions.
Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I want to mention we have a challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. The theme of this month is “Beach Scenes”. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

On my YouTube channel I also have a process video available in which I show you how to create this simple blocked design. If you like watching my videos, remember to subscribe so you won’t miss a thing.
To create a bunch of squares quickly, I actually used a window die from Mama Elephant. You could also use your guillotine trimmer to create the blocks, but using a die absolutely makes sure they all have the same size.
There are a couple of supplies I used for both cards:
- Mama Elephant – Just Hi – Creative Cuts
- Mama Elephant – Slim Window Dressing
- Lawn Fawn – Double Sided Adhesive Sheets
- My Favorite Things – Itty Bitty Birthday

The colored cardstock I used for the card above:
- Lawn Fawn Cardstock – Apricot
- Lawn Fawn Cardstock – Fog
- Lawn Fawn Cardstock – No. 2 Pencil
- Lawn Fawn Cardstock – Pencil Eraser

The colored cardstock I used for the card above:
- Lawn Fawn Cardstock – Fog
- Lawn Fawn Cardstock – Sage Leaf
- Lawn Fawn Cardstock – Rainforest
- Lawn Fawn Cardstock – No. 2 Pencil
Due to the size of the blocks, I did have to make a custom sized cardbase measuring 4 1/2 by 5 3/8 inch, leaving a nice white frame around the blocked design.
I hope you like these cards, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
