No-Line Watercoloring of Bouquet Buddies – Hello Bluebird

Hi everyone! It has been ages, but I did some watercoloring again! For this card I stamped the bouquet from Hello Bluebird with Distress Inks in a watercolor look. For that reason I also wanted to do watercoloring for the little kitty. No-line watercoloring is a bit out of my comfort zone, but I’m quite pleased with the result!

The flowers and leaves of the bouquet from Bouquet Buddies I stamped with Distress Inks and also sprayed a bit of water on top every time to get a watercolor look. The color scheme was inspired by the current Hello Bluebird challenge over at Instagram.

As the bouquet had a watercolor look, I also wanted the cat to have the same, instead of coloring it with Copic markers. To be able to do no-line watercoloring, I stamped the cat with Memento Desert Sand, which is a light ink which won’t show up that much. For the watercoloring of the cat I used the following Distress Inks: Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Worn Lipstick.

In order to make everything stand out, I didn’t want to use white cardstock as a background. So I opted for Vanilla Malt cardstock and did second generation stamping with Distress Oxide Antique Linen and a Buffalo Plaid background stamp. This created a nice imperfect impression which matches perfectly with the watercolor look of the whole card.

Finally I stamped the sentiment with Distress Oxide Vintage Photo, and finished it off with a few embellishments.

I hope you like this card, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
