A Geometric Card to Brighten Your Day – Pinkfresh Studio

Hi everyone! From another project with the Simply Hexagons die, I had the outline left over. It was perfect to add interest to a background, so I turned it into a card. I also used the fun stencil embossing technique, have you tried that before?

The card design was inspired by the current challenge over at Pinkfresh Studio. I like participating in challenges as it gives me a direction, and it may take me to designs I otherwise wouldn’t have made.

First I added texture to the white background by embossing it with the Slim Leafy Squares stencil and the Gemini Jr. I love the dimension this gives to the background! On top, I adhered the leftover Simply Hexagons outline with liquid glue.

As a focal point, I wanted to use the Brighter Days hot foil plate. I foiled the flowers with Champagne foil, and ink blended them using the layering stencils and Distress Oxides: Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Spun Sugar, Saltwater Taffy, Milled Lavender, and Shaded Lilac. The leaves I ink blended with Antique Linen and Bundled Sage.

In the centers of the flowers I added Stickles Stardust which makes them come to life. I arranged the flowers in the corner, which left a nice space perfect for the sentiment, which is from the Perfect Sentiments. I added some extra decoration with Garden Wreath flowers die cut from Pearlescent Vellum. In the centers of those vellum flowers, I added Ballet Slipper and Lavender jewels.

I hope you like this card, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!

With this card I’m participating in the April 2022 challenge of Pinkfresh Studio.
