Mini Slimline Shaker feat. Untouchable Plushies – Clearly Besotted

Hi everyone! The new Clearly Besotted release is out! And once again, it contains so much cuteness! For the card of today I used the new Untouchable Plushies, which contains critters holding either dandelions or cacti. As spring is starting to show, I chose matching colors, and turned the card into an edge to edge mini slimline shaker card.

Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I wanted to mention we have a new challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. The theme of this month is Outside Scene. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

First I stamped the critters from Untouchable Plushies on Perfect Colouring paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. After stamping, I colored the critters with my Copic markers:

  • Dragon: V17, V15, V12, V000, R30, R20, BG96, BG93
  • Dandelion: YR27, YR04, Y13, Y21, BG96, YG17, YG03

On the cheeks of the critters, I added small white dots with a gel pen, I think this makes them look even cuter! And to add texture to the critters, I did a dotting technique with the Copic markers, and also added white dots with a gel pen. After coloring, I fussy cut the critters with my Cutter Bee scissors.

As cardbase, I used Sticky Note cardstock, on which I will be adhering the edge to edge shaker. For that, I first created clouds with a stencil and Distress Oxides: Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Cracked Pistachio. I also added some splatters with gold paint from the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors set.

To create the shaker, I used leftover packaging, which I adhered with double sided tape. Before I completely closed off the shaker, I first poured in sequins from the Birthday Candles Sequin Mix. This contains pretty colors that perfectly match with the background.

As backdrop for the critters, I die cut Spiffy Speckles paper with the Slim Card Basics die from Mama Elephant. To mute the paper, I added vellum on top. I adhered the critters on the circles with thin foam squares to give them dimension. For the sentiment I used the Itty Bitty Basics, which I stamped with Distress Oxide Dusty Concord on Spiffy Speckles paper.

I hope you like this card, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
