A Colorful Friendship Card feat. Clearly Besotted

Hi everyone! I absolutely love the Whatever the Weather Fun set from Clearly Besotted! At the start of this month, I also created a card with it. Today I’m using the same pattern paper as in the other card, but then the warm colors of it. And as you can see, this card has a completely different look and vibe! It is always fun how pattern paper can be so inspiring.

Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I wanted to mention we have a new challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. The theme of this month is shaker cards. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

First I stamped the critters from the Whatever the Weather Fun on Perfect Colouring paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. You may notice, I turned the cow umbrella into a pig, by masking of the top! After stamping, I colored the critters with my Copic markers:

  • Critters: E43, E33, E11, E00, E000, R30
  • Chick: E41, YR24, Y18, Y13, Y11, Y000, R24, R22, R20
  • Pig: YR02, YR01, YR000
  • Frog: Y17, Y13, YG01, G20, YG63

On the cheeks of the critters, I added small white dots with a gel pen, I think this makes them look even cuter! After coloring, I fussy cut the critters with my Cutter Bee scissors.

On the cardbase, I adhered pattern paper from the Really Rainbow Collection Pack. For the background of the scene, I did some ink blending with Distress Oxides and the Watercolor Wash Free Form stencil from MFT. The colors I used: Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Cracked Pistachio. For some texture, I added gold splatters with the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors set.

Once I knew where I wanted to put the critters, I stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Onyx Black ink. The critters I adhered with thin foam squares to make them stand out from the background. To add another fun element, I placed Nuvo Drops on the background. This also helps bringing the various elements together. The Nuvo Drops I used: Dandelion Yellow, Ripened Pumpkin, Apple Green.

I hope you like this card, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
