Crafty Friends are the Best Friends – Clearly Besotted

Hi everyone! Do you send out the cards you make? I hope you do! I find it is a personal way to let someone know you are thinking of them. It can make someone feel special to receive something handmade, and maybe that is exactly what that person needed that day. The card of today is a thank you card, showing appreciation of all the hard work by the receiver.

Before I’m diving into the cardmaking process, I wanted to mention we have a Crafty Friend challenge running over at Cloud9 Crafts. Head over to Instagram to see how you can participate and be eligible to win a prize!

First I stamped the critters from the Heart and Homies set on Perfect Colouring paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. This stamp set is part of the new release of Clearly Besotted for January and it is super cute! After stamping, I colored the critters with my Copic markers:

  • Critters: E33, E53, E51, E50, R20, R30
  • Accessories: R22, R20, R30, R000

On their cheeks I added small white dots with a gel pen, I think this makes them look even cuter! After coloring, I fussy cut the critters with my Cutter Bee scissors.

For the cardbase I prepared a white piece of cardstock, measuring 4″ x 4″. On the cardbase, I adhered a die cut stitched square from pattern paper from the Hello Sunshine Remix paper pack. As background for the critters, I die cut small squares out of Spiffy Speckles paper, and adhered those with Scotch foam tape to give it dimension. On those squares I adhered the critters with thin foam squares to make them stand out more.

For the sentiment, I chose “thank you so much” from the Itty Bitty Basics from MFT which I stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink on Spiffy Speckles paper. I then die cut the sentiment with the Itty Bitty Strips, and adhered it with a foam strip in between the squares. I must say, I really love the Itty Bitty collection, it has become a staple in my stash!

I hope you like this card, and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
