Rainbow Ink Blending with Only 3 Distress Oxides

Hi everyone! Sometimes I like to get out of my comfort zone. For me that means, no coloring! So today’s card is with die cuts and ink blending only. As I did want to create a happy and colorful card, I went with rainbow colors for the In-Focus Florals from My Favorite Things.

This card design was inspired by Dilay Nacar, so thank you!

Over on my YouTube channel, you can find a process video of this card. You can also find a full list of supplies used in the description box. If you like watching my videos, remember to like and subscribe. Thanks!

In the video you will see me die cutting in a certain way. The reason for this is to have the option for 2 cards out of 1 background. I haven’t created a card yet with the leftovers, but will get to that soon! I always love it when you can do this. You end up with 2 beautiful cards, and no waste.

For the colors of the leaves I only used 3 colors of Distress Oxide: Squeezed Lemonade, Kitsch Flamingo, and Salvaged Patina. By mixing the colors during ink blending, you also get orange and purple. So this is really an easy way to create a rainbow of colors, without having to have a ton of Distress Oxide ink pads.

I wish I could show you the card in real life, as the pictures don’t do justice to the beautiful holographic sentiment. In the video you do see it better, so go and check it out! I was also very happy to find beautiful pearl in my shaker collection which matched perfectly with the colors on the card. These pearls are from the Crystal Collection – Harmony from Lucy’s Little Things.

I hope you like this card and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
