Snow Days Are The Best Days – Hello Bluebird

Hi! I’m back with another card with Hello Bluebird stamps. For the card of today I was inspired by this card, so I gave it my own twist. The Snow Day stamp set contains many fun adorable critters so I chose to work with that stamp set today.

First I stamped all the images on Perfect Colouring paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then I colored them with my Copic markers:

  • E43, E31, E30, E59, E57, E35, R20
  • RV66, V15, V12, V01,

After coloring I die cut them with the coordinating dies. For the background, I lightly ink blended Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick, Squeezed Lemonade, and Shaded Lilac in a random pattern. At this stage, it can look a bit ugly and not cohesive, but it will after the next step.

To create a nice snowy themed pattern on the background, I ink blended Lawn Fawn Yeti ink on the SugarPea Designs Geo Snowflake stencil. Now it is best to let it dry, but I was a bit impatient and ran it through my die cutting machine to get the stitched border. My advise is to wait, then the colors won’t rub off.

For the snowbank, I used a die from the Mama Elephant Slim Card Basics set. On top of it, I stamped the sentiment with Distress Oxide Spun Sugar. I popped up the snowbank with foam squares, as well as the critters so they would lie flush with the snowbank. To finish off the background, I heat embossed a number of snowflakes on vellum, and adhered them either with liquid glue or silicone foam tape. For a final embellishment, I added Glossy Accents on top of the accessories of the critters.

I hope you like this card and it gave you inspiration. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
