MFT Sketch and Color Challenge

Hi everyone! I always love participating in challenges, it really gets the creative juices flowing. For this card I was inspired by both the sketch and color challenge by MFT. And as I’m not done playing with the Let’s Stick Together stamp set, I pulled it out for this card.

First I first stamped the images on Perfect Colouring paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with copic markers:

  • Cactus: YG67, YG17, YG13, YG11, R20
  • Flower Pot: R22, YR02, YR01, YR000

After coloring I fussy cut the images with my Cutterbee scissors and started working on the background. For the lower part, I chose a green polka dot pattern from the MFT Party Patterns paper pack. To make the transition look smooth between the white background and the pattern paper, I die cut a small strip of green cardstock and adhered that on top. For the sentiment, I stamped it with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

The cactus and flower pot I adhered on the background with foam squares to give it dimension. To decorate the white area, I die cut a bunch of hearts from Lawn Fawn cardstock: Cilantro, Apricot, Sticky Note, Pencil Eraser. I adhered the hearts in a random pattern on the background. For a finishing touch, I coated the hearts with Glossy Accents.

I hope you like this card and it gave you inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!
