Cruising Critters Going on Holiday

Hi Everyone! I just love using the Cruising Critters stamp set for more masculine cards! It is also a stamp which is really fun to color, and that is always my favorite part. What do you enjoy most about card making?

First I stamped the cruising critters on Perfect Colouring paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with copic markers:

  • Car: BG02, BG05, BG07, B00, C0, C1, C3, C5, C9, Y18, Y13
  • Bird: YR24, Y18, Y13, Y11
  • Racoon: C0, C1, C3, C5
  • Bear: W0, W2, W4
  • Cat: YR24, YR27, Y18, E09
  • Bunny: YR20, YR21, YR24, R20
  • Hedgehog and dogs: E50, E51, E53, E55, E57, E13, E11, E31, E35, E37

To create the rest of the scene, only die cutting and some heat embossing was involved. For the mountains I used Moonstone cardstock, and for the snowy tops Sugar Crystal cardstock. For the sky I used Spiffy Speckles paper. For the road I chose a dark blue color rather than black, since I felt black would be to harsh. The dark blue cardstock is called Blue Jay from Lawn Fawn. To create the dashes, I used one of the stamp in the stamp set. I stamped them with VersaMark ink, coated it in white embossing powder and heat set it. While I had everything out for heat embossing, I also stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on black cardstock.

Now all the elements were ready and I could assemble the card. I adhered all the background elements with double sided tape. The sentiment and the cruising critters, I adhered with foam tape to give it dimension and make it stand out from the background. And that finishes of the card!

I hope you like this card and it gave you inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!
