A Fairy Merry Christmas with Hello Bluebird

Hi everyone! Today I challenged myself to create a Christmas themed card with the Fairy Garden stamp from Hello Bluebird. I love the fairies in this set and thought they would be perfect for a magical fairy themed Christmas card.

I have also made a video on my youtube channel on the card making process of this card. Subscribe to my channel if you don’t want to miss a thing.

First I stamped the images from the Fairy Garden and Garden Friends stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with my copic markers:

  • Fairy: E00, E13, R22, B00, BG02, BG04, BG10, E31, E35, E37, E39, E59
  • Butterfly: BG10, BG11, E31, E35
  • Snowdrops: YG01, YG11, YG13, YG17, YG67, C3, C1, C0, BG10

After the coloring, I die cut the images with the coordinating dies for the Garden Friends and Fairy Garden set.

For the background I stamped snowflakes from the Yeti or Not stamp set with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then I ink blended Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass on the background. The heat embossed snowflakes resist the Oxide ink and you can just rub it off. To frame the card a bit, I also ink blended Mermaid Lagoon on the edges.

I die cut a circle out of white vellum and used the Stitched Hillside border to create the snow bank out of Tonic Sugar Crystal cardstock. For the sentiment, I die cut a wavy banner out of vellum and heat embossed the sentiment on top. I adhered the images on the vellum background with foam tape to give it dimension. I did the same for the sentiment banner but I used silicone foam tape for it as it does not show that much. As a finishing touch, I put Wink of Stella on the wings of the fairy and butterfly, and added some on the snowdrops as well.

I hope you like this card and it gave you inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!
