Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a great weekend. Today I’m back with a unicorn card and I thought it would be fun to make it in ‘non-traditional’ unicorn colors.
The stamps used are from the MFT Magical Unicorns set. I stamped them with Archival Ink Jet Black on Mixed Media paper from Strathmore. This paper has a smooth vellum surface which makes it easy to spread watercolors. I colored all the images and background with Mijello Mission Gold watercolors. For the main colors I choose shades of red, orange, and yellow.
After coloring everything, I die cut the images with the coordinating dies and adhered them with either tacky glue or foam squares for some dimension. As a finishing touch, I went over the hair of the unicorn with Wink of Stella, because what is a unicorn card without some glitter and shine? To give it even more shine and dimension, I added glossy accents on the unicorn’s horn, the star, and the castle flags.
To finish up the card I stamped the sentiment on a wavy banner from Lawn Fawn and adhered the card on orange cardstock to compliment the colors in the card itself.
