Hi! Today I’m sharing a cat birthday card. It was made with one of the digital stamps from Gerda Steiner. As I’m a big fan of cats (have 2 myself) I sometimes just have to make a card featuring a cat.

I started by masking of the card, just leaving an open circle in the center. With a blending brush I applied distress Ink Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers. I think they really go well together and it creates a subtle gradient. For the circles, I used a stencil, applied some more Peacock Feathers through it, and covered it with Nuvo Shimmer paste. This really brightens the page and brings a lot of sparkle to it.

I colored the cat with a ZIG clean color real brush pens and the baloons with the Distress Inks to make it match with the background. I fuzzy cut the cat and balloons, leaving a small white border around them. To add some extra interest to the card, I decided I wanted a real string going from the balloons to the cat. So I cut 3 pieces of string, wrapped them around the cats tail and glued it behind the cat and balloons.

For the sentiment, I die cut ‘Happy Birthday’ out of some matching cardstock. I used the same cardstock to act as a border around the card. And that finishes up the card!
