For these cards I was inspired by a challenge by a Dutch shop called ‘De Egel’ and a youtube video I watched a long time ago. Instead of creating a starburst with pattern paper, I decided to create a background myself with a flower stamp en color it with Nuvo Shimmer Powder Violet Brocade.
Card 1: White embossing, black background

Card 2: Gold embossing, light purple background

Process
First I stamped the image with Versamark, coated it in the embossing powder, and heat set it. Then I carefully distributed the shimmer powder over the image by lightly tapping the back. I actived the powder by spraying it with water, but not too much because then the colors all mix and all you get is purple.

After it dried, I made markings on the back where I wanted to cut the image. I used a ruler to get them 20 degrees apart.

Now comes the scary part, cutting the image into pieces.

I taped the background paper to the card base and with foam tape I adhered the paper pieces to the card. Then I die cut a circle and heat embossed a sentiment on top. With some glue I adhered it in the corner to also hide all the pieces coming together.
And that’s it! I had a lot of fun making the cards and I’m happy with the end results.
